Conference in Beautiful Beijing

2015 6th IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering and Service Science (ICSESS 2015) was held on Setember 23-25, 2015 in Beijing China. This conference wass sponsored by IEEE, IEEE Beijing Section brought together the top researchers from Asian Pacific nations, North America, Europe and around the world to exchange their research results and address open issues in computer science especially Software Engineering and Computer Services in all aspects on human life. It was one of the leading international conferences for presenting novel and fundamental advances in the fields of software computer engineering and service science.

After the conference was ended, at the China Hall Science and Technology Hotel, Beijing, 25 September 2015

I attended the conference on behalf of Kalbis Institute, Jakarta, presented my paper “Multimedia Based Development: Bubble Sort visualization” that could be implemented in computer education. Bubble sort algorithm is one of many types of sorting algorithm that must be learned by the students. Many students could not understand easily the concept of sorting algorithm, hence an aplication was needed to be built as a multimedia aided learning. The aplication shew the movement of data element to the proper location changing the other element, eqquiped with music or sound as can be seen in the aplication below.

During the conference I met some friends from Thailand, China, Germany, and another countries. After the conference ended make photo together, and then I went to Tien Anmen and Forbidden City with Kanokwatt from Thailand accompanied by Chinese students Fangyuan and Siriguleng by subway. It was a beautiful place with flowers ... , though it was in the begining of autumn in Beijing.

A young girl in her twenties, whose name was Meng Yan who was studying at Beijing Information Science and Technology University, guided me wherever I wanted to visit in Beijing. Her English was good, as for as her Chinese, it was excellent. I think she, who presented her paper in an International Conference, was a smart student in her third year study at university. She said that she tried what her superviser always encourage her to communicate in the international meeting because we could not stop globalization in education and research. Later she and the other two students accompanied me visiting Great Wall, Olympic Park and their university. They lent me a mobile phone, so I could send text message or making call for communicating with them. We went to Great Wall by subway first to Beijing Bei Railway Station and then went by train to Badaling Station.

After visiting Great Wall, on the next day I visited Beijing Information Science and Technology University. Meng Yan and Xiaojiang Fan arrived at my hotel when it was raining at 9.30 a.m. We left hotel using an umbrella to the a bus shelter, and then got on a bus to the university. For not long we wer on the bus, we had to got off at a bus shelter. We had to walk across the street through the underground tunnel before we arrived at the university. Prof. Jianbin Liu, the Dean of Computer School, was still working in the computer laboratory when we entered the room. He smiled and let me took a seat. We had a friendly conversation and he said that we will be able to make an academic cooperation in the future.

Olympic Park, 28 September 2015

We had lunch at the campus restaurant before we went to Olympic Park was located near the Beijing Information Science and Technology University, so we could arrive at the place on foot. The National Stadium hosted the main track and field Football, and final competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. The National Stadium is located in the Olympic Park Central Area of gentle slope, facility design is similar to a vessel, the high ground fluctuation appearance to ease building sense of weight, and gives a dramatic and powerful physique, the National Stadium the perfect image of pure, appearance is the structure of the building, elevation and structure to achieve the perfect unity.
